Web search made better with Google Instant Previews
Google web search has gone beyond instant search. Google search now features a quick snapshots (with snippets) of searched web pages adjacent to the search results- called "Instant previews". Instant previews let you see the visual layout of a web page before clicking the search results. Hence you can make a visual comparision of the searched pages and can pick the right search result.
How is it going to help us search better?
Now with instant previews you can make better choices as google argues that Snapshots can help us identify official sites using logos or the highlighted snippets can be helpful in making better decision before we blindly click on the link. So basically it helps us to search better, that all!

How does it work?
When you make a web search using Google search, each result will have an additional magnifying glass icon, click on it to see the Instant previews or snapshots of the web pages you are about to view.
"With Instant Previews, we match your query with an index of the entire web, identify the relevant parts of each webpage, stitch them together and serve the resulting preview completely customized to your search—usually in under one-tenth of a second. Once you click the magnifying glass, we load previews for the other results in the background so you can flip through them without waiting." -- The Official Google-blog
