Call Phone From Gmail
Google has come up with an innovative idea - to integrate Google Voice with Gmail. This new application is known as Call phone. This application has unified Google Voice with Gmail. Now you can call up anyone from Gmail no matter how far they are from you. This is, in fact, the easiest way of receiving calls and dialing calls.
Now you will see an additional entry in your chat window titled as Call phone. Check out the screenshot below.
If you click on Call phone, Call window with an attractive dialpad will be launched. Just punch in the phone number and you can make your call instantaneously!
At present, this new Call Phone feature is absolutely free of cost in the US and Canada and is likely to be so throughout this year. Calling within India has been priced at $0.06 per minute. Still you can make international calls to US and Canada for free.
In case, you are not aware of how to make a call using Gmail, then here is the procedure in detail.
- Open a Gmail account and go to the “Chat” window option on the left hand side of your Gmail screen. Locate the “Call Phone” entry and a green phone symbol located just next to this line.
- Click on the “Call Phone” tab. In fact, a box will appear that will tell you about this new service of Google. Reading the information in this box, you will get all the information about this new service. Below this “Call Phone” tab, you will see two options and you need to click on “Accept” option indicating that you agree on understanding the terms of use of this new service.
- After this, you will be required to install and activate the voice and video plug-in, in case you haven't done so already.
- Locate the call window on the page, type in the number and press blue “Call” button!
Use this Call Phone feature to talk to friends and family members instantly in any country worldwide.
